TK sampling for dried blood spot (DBS)

The dried blood spot (DBS) sampling technique involves spotting small volumes of blood onto a DBS collection card for analysis in the laboratory.

This technique has useful applications in toxicokinetic studies for quantifying drug exposure, and has numerous advantages over plasma or serum samples, which traditionally were used for these studies.

These advantages include: simplified sample collection, room temperature storage and easier transportation.
