This is an an automated, non-standard assay to measure the levels of protein C in a bloodstream in support of nonclinical and clinical research studies. Protein C is a key component of the natural anticoagulant pathway required for normal hemostasis. Protein C deficiencies may indicate a potential clinical risk for venous thromboembolism, including deep venous thromboses and pulmonary emboli.
