ToxTracker® assay

The ToxTracker® reporter assay consists of a panel of six mouse embryonic stem cell lines that are modified with different green fluorescent protein (GFP) tagged reporters for various cellular signaling pathways involved in carcinogenesis.

The assay can be used to monitor the activation of signaling pathways associated with DNA damage, oxidative stress, general p53-dependent cellular stress as well as protein unfolding response, thereby providing insight into the mechanisms of (geno)toxicity, of the test compound.

The ToxTracker reporter cell lines are combined in 96-well plates, exposed to the test samples, typically for 24h and induction of the fluorescent reporters is examined by flow cytometry.
