Radiosynthesis assessments

Radiosynthesis assessments are chemical tests that evaluate metabolism, degradation and final fate in animals, humans or the environment.

One or more atoms of the test substance are replaced by a radioisotope, for example 14C, producing multiple radiolabeled substances that are used to track the biotransformation of the test substance.

For example,

  • Radiolabeled peptides have been studied for positron emission tomography (PET) tumor imaging potential in mice bearing A549 tumors.
  • Tracers for the serotonin 7 (5‐HT7) receptor have also been assessed within the CNS therapy field.
